While New Rock is currently offering a variety of genres, they are not offering a variety of music. Everything they're currently playing can be broadly defined as "pop" music - music made exclusively for consumption, within well-established genre parameters.

To put it simply: New Rock isn't playing Cat Power, Dead Kennedys, and Johnny Cash. They're playing Alanis Morrissette, Bad Religion, and some Nashville light-country.

It's technically diverse, yes. But it's not interesting. Anyone I've ever known who likes music enough to genuinely appreciate everything from Punk to Country to Chick Singers, myself included, has been discriminating enough to only like the most well-versed artists of those categories - not the most disposable.
