Dear JJJ

Dear Jaded Julias Jester,

I can understand that men should not commit crimes against women and your pressure on men to not do such things. I must also say that women commit crimes agaist other women, men commit crimes agaist other men, and women do criminal things to men. I have a simple question, though. Crime will occur regardless of anyone's opinion of crime, what the facts are, etc. I want to know, in your opinion, what should women, children, men, cats, whoever/whatever do to curb or end crime? I don't mean lobby to have tougher laws, because I believe that if someone is intent on harming another, they could care less about the laws. Or, they are simply convinced they won't be caught. I don't mean stay in at night. Hell, that's when I am out, not during the daylight, usually...

So, what real things can be done in your opinion, JJJ?

Belle

The crime rate in any society represents the mix of two things: the macro level of morality within identifiable cultures, combined with the success and or failures of the criminal justice system. If you have a culture with a high level of morality,

such as the mormons, minonites, amish, jewish...

then you won't need a really punitive criminal justice system.

If you have a culture(s) with a LOW macro level of morality, then you will DEFINITELY need a strong criminal justice system. In any society that has identifiable cultures with low levels of morality and which also has a lilly soft criminal justice system? You'll have very high crime rates and you may very well witness helter skelter, chaos, a total social meltdown. South Africa is right there right now. They are headed toward a clockwork orange deluge of madness. Johannesburg is the rape capital of the WORLD, with a rape every 26 seconds.

About 96% of ALL violent crime on this planet is committed by MEN.
SO! If you are woman, teen girl or GIRL, then you can pat yourself on the back and say that WE are NOT a big part of this problem called crime. In America, about 11% of the murders are committed by women, but most of them are domestic violence related or inner city arguments with known accomplices. That women only commit about 4%? It exists across almost all cultures and continents.

So right away you know-- if you want a safer society? Ya gotta work on the males. Safe societies DO exist, and HAVE existed. There certainly ARE right now and there have been cultures where women were MUCH safer than they are today in America. Now, living in Knoxville, your average girl may not feel like she is in danger. But if she moved into New Orleans, Memphis, Atlanta, Dallas, Baltimore, or any number of cities she'd QUICKLY feel like you were in much more danger, and if she didn't...she'd be naive.

The level of rape in ANY society is a somewhat inverse predictor of just how successful it is-- the more rape a culture has? Typically, the less successful the culture IS. It's not a causational relationship, but it's a helluva coincidence. But the bottom line is that less advanced societies ALL have ONE THING IN COMMON-- the women are not lauded, supported, cherished, uplifted, and treasured, and sponsored. Sierra Leone is a perfect example, with women taken as sexual slaves, mass gang rapes and mutilations, and an almost non existant level of long term pair bonding between men and women.

Any society will have some crime. The japanese LEAD the entire world in peacability. There is no nation that has a lower crime rate. They have some things that standout about them-- they are uni cultural, instead of multi cultural like the USA is, and they have a high level of morality, and they ALSO have a fair but punitive criminal justice system. They will not tolerate rape, and they have an effective death penalty.

America once had a much much lower crime rate than it does today.

There are several reasons why it's much more dangerous for women and girls today than it was 50 or a hundred years ago. But the signs are REAL that our multi cultural America has a REAL problem with increasing violence against women. I personally believe that it is THE most important issue in our country today, and I consider it an outrage that it is this bad. You'll have to stand by for the 'real things that can be done'...

Belle, why are you feeding this guy's ego? Why are any of you continuing to debate with this guy? Is he going to change any minds? Are you going to change his mind?
Why pose logical, well-thought-out questions to the guy when you know he's just going to go on his "all women are all men's punching bags" schtick. It's getting old. Why don't you try not spoon-feeding him the very thing he needs to keep going: attention?

"But the signs are REAL that our multi cultural America has a REAL problem with increasing violence against women"

/////////////////

Aaah, but we have real problem with increasing crime in general, not just against women. And why is that?

Could it be, hmmm, that children aren't getting moral discipline from their parents? I see no other factor in society that so directly relates to the problem at hand (rising crime).

Think about it, we're teaching our children, through the media,to be violent. The TV is the babyitter, hehheh, it's true. Both parents have to be in the workforce, leaving the children to watch S.Segal and play Quake, and we wonder why they want to rape and kill? And when they're not at home, they're being sent to a school where the teachers are telling them that this is it, there is no God, and the wisdom of our fathers is nothing more than something to make fun of.

The problem is not violence against women, fuck that, what makes them so special? The problem is the gross negligence we're practicing in regards to the education of our children.

in case you haven't picked up yet, this is a prime example of how JJJ is full of absolute bullshit.

someone has actually cornered him with a question and instead of answering the question he uses several paragraphs of bullet dodging to try and avoid the real issue.

Dear JJJ,

If you really want to impress anyone here, or as you like to call it at least give me the chance. Then please start offering real arguments i.e. a problem and a possible solution both rational in design. Otherwise be ready to continue with the onslaughts of people making fun of you.

p.s. since I know you probably didn't make it this far through the post and even if you did, you still need something to argue with more so than the rational, You are a freak man.
No one is out to get you.

Please start posting at least half way thought out shit.

I don't even know where to begin.

If you have a culture with a high level of morality

How the fuck do you propose measuring that? Where do Islamic countries--which have a much lower crime rate than the U.S., but aren't terribly kind to their women--fit in? What is it about South Africa that makes it so immoral?--I suppose it was more moral under apartheid when the crime rate was lower? Or how about a country like say Italy--very Catholic--are they moral enough for you and if so, do you like the way they treat their women? Making sweeping generalizations makes the world easier to navigate, but it doesn't really explain anything, or come closer to finding answers.

There are several reasons why it's much more dangerous for women and girls today than it was 50 or a hundred years ago.

Like 100 years ago when women had no legal right to vote, and where it was perfectly legal and accepted for men to beat and rape their wives? Like 100 years ago, when Knoxville and America had a much higher murder rate, when blacks and women couldn't vote, when child labor was routine? Was America so much more "moral" then? When it was extremely difficult for a woman to ever press a rape conviction, and why so few rarely ever tried? (If you were such a true expert on crime statistics, you'd know that an increase in rape statistics [or any crime statistic] doesn't necessarily mean that rape is on the rise--victims of the crime have always been very stigmatized and thus unlikely to report. The ways that police agency report sex crimes is also stricter and broader.)

Listen to yourself:There are several reasons why it's much more dangerous for women and girls today than it was 50 or a hundred years ago.

I think this statement of yours is very telling--you're not after true equality for women. You're more comfortable with the Victorian, misogynistic dihcotomy that held women up as either saints or whores, dehumanizing them in either case. I for one am so fucking sick of listening to you preach to women about how dangerous it is out there, as if they don't already know that. If you were really concerned about making this a better world for women you might actually try to listen to the women on this board. Do you not see the irony in your rhetoric--you preach so sincerely about caring for women yet all you can see is their gender.

Since woman's greatest misfortunes has been that she was looked upon as either angel or devil, her true salvation lies in being
placed on earth; namely, in being considered human, and therefore subject to all human follies and mistakes.

-Emma Goldman

Women are systematically degraded by receiving the trivial attentions which men think it manly to pay to the sex, when, in fact, men
are insultingly supporting their own superiority.

-Mary Wollstonecraft

Whatever women do they must do twice as well as men to be thought half as good. Fortunately, this is not difficult.
-Charlotte Whitton

People who talk about revolution and class struggle without referring explicitly to everyday life, without understanding what is
subversive about love and what is positive in the refusal of constraints, such people have a corpse in their mouth.

I've been here a good while or so, and I haven't SEEN a handle like
this one before. Pick a handle, KEEP the same one, establish yourself on this board to a point where people get a sense of what you are about, and THEN I'll give you a decent answer.

By the way, ALL of your points can easily be explained in sociology and criminology.

Oh, that's too much. I didn't realize you respond only to anonymous names you've heard before. In other words, I have to be an anonymous poster who has been around a while (nevermind that I have), before you'll deign to recognize me. Talk about fucking ego.

By the way, ALL of your points can easily be explained in sociology and criminology.

No, they can't be easily explained, and no serious criminologist or sociologist would pretend they could. The world isn't as simple as you'd like to believe it is.

You're more comfortable with the Victorian, misogynistic dihcotomy that held women up as either saints or whores, dehumanizing them in either case.

Despite having flown way over JJJ's head here, you've clearly identified his mindset. They're not women to JJJ. They're "femmes" and "Lolitas." And it's not freedom he wants for them, but submission to an antiquated view of women as being under the absolute control of men, whether it be for better or for worse. If men will women to suffer, they shall suffer. If men grant women the privelidge of respect, then and only then shall they have it. He sits by the pool, assessing their defenses, and fantasizes about such power.

But to be fair, there are women who feel the same as JJJ, believing that they are powerless in this world -- those who still believe that the white knight will ride in to save them so that they may be enslaved to but one (hopefully) malevolent man rather than cope with complexity of freedom.

Gene, nothing further could be the truth...

merely BECAUSE a writer uses various terms for females, such as 'femme' or 'lolita'...certainly does not infer that they should be 'antiquated women' who only get respect if men want it.

"He sits by the pool, asessing their weaknesses, and fantasizes about such power."-- total HORSE SHIT, Gene. And the rest is nothing but insults as well.

Bottom line? You can not refute my position, or assail my thoughtlines; all you can do is what you've done thus far-- INSULT.

And no matter how cutting and sick your insults get?

Every single day as you continue them?

I'll GAIN in strength here, Gene. I'll do it in spite of what YOU have to say about it. I'll do it by crafting reasonable arguments on social issues of the day, and I'll do it by being an INTERESTING poster.

Little men such as thee can sit and watch.

Think you can debate me? Step up to the plate. I only debate issues that I KNOW really well, Gene....

and I know this one REALLY WELL.

maybe not, but the following is a categorical list of the first 100 sites listed after searching for the word 'lolita':

1. The Book and/or Movie adaptation of Lolita - 41%
a story of an older man and his desires for an underage girl.

2. Porn Sites - 30%

3. Sites regarding a captive whale named Lolita - 6%

4. Private Industry - 4%

5. Pansexual Sites (personal or reference) - 4%
