Brother has new Ultima online package. Third Dawn. Manual? A ten page pamphlet. Map? A plastic generic thingie.

I haven't played much lately. But I tend to remember that manuals and stuff were wodnerfully thick with illustrations and stuff. I mean you could spend a ood hour just going over the manual. I asked him why the change in quality. Suposedly most players don't want a manual they just want to get in the game.

Oh the quality of funship these days.

Anyway old man ranting. i remeber when i got FF3 and got this thick gorgeous manual with watercolored paintings of eveything. And it was nice and wonderful.

Brother got out Ultima six game. Manual has illustraions is about twenty five pages longnames creatures and spells and advises you to take notes on the game. And the map is paper written with runes you have to translate.

Oh what has happaned to our gaming culture.

Woooooe.

I mean it shouldn't matter to me at all. I don't play anymore. But I don't know it seems that things are losing their sense of depth and detail.

Crank old man rant over.

I only have a vague idea what you are talking about, so I won't try to respond with a reasonable opinion. But....I think after so much time of having any particular interest your mind needs to continue to find challenge with the source of interest. And it is a big let down when there is little or no challenge (or beauty or whatever) in an object.

You ain't a grumpy old man!!!!!!!

Look, I'll be happy when Rainbow Six/2 makes it to PS/2 or at least when Metal Gear Solid/2 makes it this Fall.

Damn that pesky samurai.
