JJJ, when you were in prison, were you a "hoss" or a "hossette"?

So, reverend...you really agree with Gene? i saw your post down below, man. Do you feel that talking about the tragedy of 55,000 missing women is 'paranoid raving'...?
Julie Lieber read it and SHE suggests another lyric writing contest.
Not a SINGLE person here apparently agreed with me on my post that 55,000 missing women is a national tragedy, an incredible travesty of justice. I'm actually amazed at how FEW people apparently give a damn.
How about you? I read your web site. Hey, you're a darn talented writer who, with a little more editing, could be even better. With a little work you could easily be a reporter for a newspaper.
You had nothing to say other than "GO Gene!"
So tell me, was Gene a guy who had complimentary things to say about your posts in the past? They'd almost ran you off of the board when I first arrived. You were so angry...have you forgotten?
If what I wrote was so uncompelling, then perhaps I'll be more persuasive in the future. We'll see...
gotta run...via condios

I'm amazed by the shift in tone from someone lately so confident in himself and his message. Perhaps I can lend another perspective. I would suggest that you strain to see the value within the criticism you've received, which means overlooking the personal attacks and insults that have accompanied it. It's clear that your concerns are not objectionable, contrary to what you perceive. I haven't witnessed anyone here who approves of "violent crime". It's the redundant means of expressing this you have used that have drawn fire. Intended or not, it often comes across as an attention-getting tactic, particularly with your near exclusive fixation upon male-to-female crime. As has been suggested, proposing remedies is better received than mourning problems. I'll at least say that your issue-centered style is much more meaningful than the individual-centered sparring that so plagues the blab. I have confidence that a minor revision in approach could place you well above the contempt of the rational. Good luck.

Well Kev, I'm still confident, man--
I'm just sadly failing to realize what
is lacking here. The town of Knoxville is
much, MUCH more safe per capita than Memphis,
or any of other major cities where I have
lived. That may be the REAL reason for some
of the apathy. Knoxville isn't a city that
has real problems with crime-- so to some here,
my editorialism is 'paranoid'...
if some of these folks lived in a major city,
then they'd already KNOW how dangerous much of
urban America is.
I'll have some concrete solutions in time,
but I've yet to define ALL the elements of the
problem at this point. But folks here have seen
a good portion of it defined-- violence against
women will RUIN a society, and in my opinion,
this country has a REAL problem with it.
Sadly enough, I'm not getting the chance
to do much on this board, sir...
as this place seems to be a deluge of
insults and flames. Few people if any
get much of anything thru amid the daily
one liners, etc. If you have a harsh, cut down
based board, you will almost certainly not be
able to attract many femme posters. They'll
LEAVE. Or never even show up. Or else they'll
occasionally lurk. A really GOOD message board,
which this one HAS the potential to be,
will have more of them, and they'll be more vocal.
And you're RIGHT-- my 'style' is an issue based
style, instead of an individual centered style.
It's long winded, and opinionated, and sometimes
a little melancholy, but I can assure you that
it IS an issue based paradigm. But I'm not certain
that a 'revision in approach' will place me
above the 'contempt of the rational'...sir I HOPE
that my approach will slowly gather readership.
Hey, thanks for the good luck...I'm gonna need it.
If what I write in various posts
seems like the truth of the affair,
feel free to say so right here.
I can use all the
help I can get...
in the end, I'll sail away...if what I had
to say was relevant, those who read it will
know it was, and as for critics? :)
Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!

we don't want to hear this shit. go away. fuck off. if you ever met some of the men on this board, you would realize none of them are rapist. hell most of 'em couldn't get laid with $50 in their pockets while driving down magnolia!
all you do is talk about the issue and say we as men need to change ourselves. thats the pussy's way of thinking. when is the last time you stopped another men from attacking a woman? when is the last time you helped a female to her car, when she didn't feel safe? it's easy to sit there and say 'we as men need to change' but that statement is wrong. we as REAL men need to go out and stop the voilence where and when it happens. but you don't do that. you sit around and whine that the people on the metroblab are nothing but flamers. you sit around thinking that we don't give a damn about violence against women. you are too pussy-assed to make a real difference.
go away you aren't wanted here.

Furthermore, unlike early releases of IE, in the current distros the<PUNCHOUT> feature is disabled in the default setup. In order to enable it, the user must change the security settings from Normal (i.e. only allows for MS specific mechanisms of malice) to Foolish (allows non-MS tinkering with the system).
My understanding is that upcoming versions of Flash will also have this capability, though users will be required to download a patch for previous installations.
Opera is unable to produce this behavior, but promises it in future releases.

That's a bit pompous; and a bit misinformed. I haven't seen the most recent stats, but I do recall that within the nineties Knoxville was ranked among the top 20 cities in America in terms of violent crimes per capita.

God, you're SO transparent you smarmy fuck.

You're saying that the way this board is is inherently bad, and you're here to save the board and run off all the regulars and get new people.
Rule #7 is never cramp anyone's style.
If you don't like the rules of the game that this board constitutes, you can refuse to play. But it's bad form to sit there day in and day out whining about how wrong the rules are. Join the game or leave. Respect our cyberspace.

And no one thinks that 55,000 missing women, if that figure is true, isn't a tragedy. What we think is a tragedy is your paranoid obsession with it.

Sarcasm? Me? The old Genester? I prefer the term repartee.
And really, the only time the Good Reverand has roused my ire was an incident best forgotten wherein he suffered what I believe to be an acute attack of Turrette's Syndrome, erringly referring to a female friend of mine using what he desperately defended as an archaic Scottish term. All indications are that this affliction has past.
