There was a time when a girl could walk along Nashville streets...unafraid.

Rapists and abductors didn't even EXIST in her world....and if the people ever found one? He'd be hanging down by the river, and that'ud be all ya ever heard of it. All ya ever knew of it.

From 1975 to 1993, more than EIGHT THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED women, teen girls and baby girls were abducted (or intruded upon), raped and murdered in America.

If you were walking down a trail and one of them was buried every ten feet,

then every ten feet you'd see a tombstone...

and you would WALK for more than NINE MILES...

seeing nothing but the tombstones of femme murder victims.

More than SEVEN HUNDRED THOUSAND rapes were reported in 1994.

From the molestation statistics, to the stalking stats...

from sexual harrassment to the glass ceiling...

from date rape to domestic violence...

from the HARRASSMENT that exists in public schools...the practice of 'palming'....

to the INTRUSION home robbery stats...

The Lady of Justice has a tear under her blindfold.

We keep wondering what is the problem...

as another scrip gets filled at Walgreens,

another girl gets on PAXIL or PROZAC...

another girl cries out

and it's a case of Sweet Soul Sister...

We keep wondering what is wrong in our society

as first time marriages fail at a rate of 63%....

as a generation tries...(and tires of)

self medication

We see a generation that is trying to LIVE and LOVE...

only problem is...

the level of danger for women and girls in that society is WAY TOO HIGH...

trafficing in women,

sold to the highest bidder in West asian islamic nations, and African nations...

I can't believe that we won't GET TOUGH on rapists, abductors, burglars, home invasion robbers, abduction rape killers, molesters, psychos.

I suggest another lyric contest. This line bears a resemblance to a Conway Twitty song my elderly babysitter used to play when I was a small child. (She had a basement with a shrine in it and used to make me pray with her, as Jim Reeves droned on in the background on an old Victrola.)

I must agree with Mr. Jester in this. His reluctance to bang his head against a wall is wrong. Or as Mr. Jester emphasizes, SO wrong.

But it's never too late, JJJ. If you are unable to bring yourself to take on the task, perhaps you could use a service, or solicit a volunteer to bang your head up against a wall (many law enforcement officials are well trained in this activity, and may offer their services with the right encouragement.).

When was the last time you offered something besides a catalogue of social ills? I don't recall you offering any sort of "solutions" either. You're the MetroBlab equivalent of Chicken Little. You pop on here, declare your desperate opposition to [insert warped perspective on common human condition here], and then weep uncontrollably. No answers, no suggestions, just rants pissing down on a group of people whom you don't know and who you seem to think are blissfully unaware of the world and dying for your revelations.

Moreover, all of this wailing and gnashing of teeth comes from someone who purports to fear for the sanctity of women, yet refers to underage girls as "Lolitas" -- one who thinks that social skills were part of the original distribution of "DOS 2 point 0."

And always, you present the air that You are somehow above all of it. The world is a sinful and evil place, and you are the messiah come to enlighten us.

You're the unintended consequence of Internet expression: someone who has been given an inch, and thinks they are a ruler. You're a wacko.
