Sirs:I would like to ask you for a favor. Of course you may reject it and I will have no recourse but to seethe. However, I must ask you to cease and desist from using the name of Oscar Wilde. Oscar Wilde's name is sacred to the English language, to cultivated discourse, to rapier sharp wit, and is synonymous with genius. I must say I find your use of the name terribly presumptuous, especially in view of your obvious despair of artful composition. Thank you for your consideration. By the way, I once saw a man evacuate his bowels right in the middle of Maplehurst, where I used to live. He was a migrant football fan from some other part of Tennessee, taking part in a pig roast at the University Club. They were roasting a real pig, by the way, not a University Club member. Cheers, J. Lieber

Education is an admirable thing. But it is well to remember from time to time that nothing that is worth knowing can be taught. --Oscar Wilde

I used to live downtown too, right on S.Central in a condo. I loved EXCEPT for football time just because of what you have stated and the simple fact that people found puking in my mailbox to be their second favorite past time next to breaking in my Jeep. I loved living downtown with the exception of the few occassional assholes. I moved because of the whole Justice Center thing...remember that? I simply could not deal with being a single woman living next door to a jail house. I didn't think it would be safe and saw no other choice. Lucky for you, you still get to live down town. ANd I didn't even have a parking garage! Now I'm pissed....your'e complaining and you have a parking garage?! I'm one of those parking ticket people. You know...the poor folks who live downtown with no parking except at the meters and if you don't put money in it before 7a.m. your'e screwed.

You seem to think your in NYC. Knoxville is about 6 blocks x 10 and 1/2 that is parking. This can hardly be considered an urban jungle as you seem to think. Maybe if people did'nt act like downtown was a free for all where shitting on the sidewalk is ok then maybe more people would like to live here and the whole everlasting drama of "dead Knoxville" will stop. How you can bicker with me over people littering and using the city as their personal toilet is beyond me. Maybe you'd prefer to live in Bombay, sounds like it. I'm getting the feeling everyone here just likes to argue.........ok everything is just roses, let Knoxville rot in feces for all I care. I'm moving anyway, the whole town is a lost cause and never will be anything but a parking lot.

"ok everything is just roses, let Knoxville rot in feces for all I care. I'm moving anyway, the whole town is a lost cause and never will be anything but a parking lot." YES! Now THAT'S the right idea. Finally! You don't like Knoxville? Wanna sit around whining all the time about it till folks are sick of you? MOVE AWAY! Hell, I've done it three times! Always end up back here but that's beside the point. Go somewhere else for a while and you'll realize something. IT SUCKS EVERYWHERE! Live anywhere, and I do mean ANYWHERE and after a while it will start to suck too (I spent a year in Key West, I know what of I speak). MS

Key West is the best place I know of to get drunk. Period. But you can only be drunk for so long before even that gets old...MS

See what I mean about hyperbole? Ever get the feeling your a little over sensitive? No one suggested that "shitting on the sidewalk is ok." I'm moving anyway May I suggest you avoid urban areas in the future. I don't think you'll like them. ~Gene Harrogate

Come to think of it, this "guy" is all'bout public bathrooms. Hmmm, why do we think this is? What goes on in public restrooms in downtown areas? Perhaps he is in need of a "private" place to meet the fine fellows he so desires in Krutch Park and elsewhere along the "_______ five-hundred" route downtown. People, this is why the take the doors off of the stalls at Sears. The reason there are CCTV cameras in the Men's rooms of all Proffitts, the reason that the stall doors at Parisian are now only three feet high. The reason that you can't take a decent piss downtown. The main reason taht the parks around the County have boarded up the facilities. The reason that you can no longer feel safe in the deep dark night in any alley way around town. The reason that you can no longer visit West Knox News or Town and Country at night and buy the odd accessory. The reason, and the only reason, you can never go home again.

No I find public bathrooms filthy, sorry I don't know about your events at the mall but I do agree that is why the bathrooms are closed at market square....where is this all going? I thought I'd take the subject away from the homeless to point out that it's not just them but that's not ok, you just have to rag about me wanting hustlers or what ever it is your going on about.

Christ "Oscar" or "Corey" or whatever your name is today. I'm only joking! I think that those places are gross too. Hell, i can't even piss at WESTTOWN MALL let alone Market Square Mall. And no, I don't think you're trying to get hustlers from the streets of the city. Clearly you're too busy playing blackjack with the ravens.
