The other thing I learned from the Sentinel is that the KPD has an "Internet Crime Strike Force." Okay, maybe I'm cynical, but does anyone know if they had such a force before there was an opportunity to share the spotlight in a big federal operation?
Meanwhile they need a Residential Burglary Strike Force and a Car Theft Strike Force: try getting them to show up, much less investigate, when you've had one of those. As far as they're concerned, it's between you and your insurance company, and not a law enforcement matter at all. (Yes, I speak from bitter personal experience.)

No kidding. The "tax reform" proponents should consider hiring a better PR firm. I have never been marketed to by a more incompetent bunch of salesmen. I am a ready and willing consumer. Just ask my wife.
And being the life-long card-carrying left-wing liberal tax-and-spend Democrap that I am, I really WANT to support a state income tax, er, "tax reform". I really do.
Maybe they need to plaster the airwaves with a cute little Mexican dog saying "Yo Quiero Tax Reform!" or something.

Yes, who knew there was so much internet crime in Knoxvegas that we need five, count 'em, five full time officers on the case.
But wait, there was $300,000 in Federal funding for the program.
Tennessee and particularly East Tennessee are the MASTERS at obtaining Federal money. We should have seminars and workshops for the other states in return for a small vig.
It reminds me how happy I am to have a benevolent and paternalistic local arm of the Federal Government watching over us, our very own government within a government, TVA. Where would all us barefoot snaggle tooth trailer trash hillbillies be without them? Sitting in the dark making mud pies and chiseling out crude stone implements, I suppose.
