More gold from JJJ's directory

A big engorged snake and a frail, helpless woman?

Looks like JJJ should be concerned with protecting women from himself.

Followups

it's a painting from a girl artist...

It's a jpeg of a painting that a girl did. She has a web site and we have emailed back and forth a few times. It's been a couple of years though. I'll see if I can find a link for ya...

I like artist girls. They are often really cool people.

The "snake" in question is obviously her familiar. If you don't know what a familiar is I'm not gonna explain it as you probably wouldn't get it anyway.

A familiar, sir, in the world of quote real magic unquote, is generally a diminutive and relatively powerless creature whose will is weak enough that it can serve as the eyes and ears of the magician it works for. A dragon would hardly allow itself to be in such a servile position.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have a plate of hummous to consume.

Well I guess that depends upon how powerful the magician/wizard/priestess/witch/etc. is, doesn't it? It seems feasible to me that a very powerful sorceror could have a dragon as a familiar.
At least it's not in the realm of complete impossibility.

It is certainly more feasible than the next Star Wars fiasco being anything but a stinking pile of refuse, yes. Memo to George Lucas: Worst. Title. Ever.

A familiar is also, according to Catholic belief (a strain not generally embraced in mainstream Catholicism, for obvious reasons), a possessing spirit who invades the psyche of its victim by "visiting" him/her in the guise of another creature (whom no one else can see, of course, and as opposed to possessing entities that are manifested non-visually, wholly within the "inner life" or consciousness of the possessee.) Familiars are generally weaker, less clever spirits subservient to more powerful entities who exercise control over the possessed from "behind the scenes," with the familiar acting as a liaison.

she doesn't look helpless
