Announcing Rock and Roll Mountain Bike Ride
This Friday morning. Meet at 9:00AM in front of the Bike Zoo (in Western Plaza. You must bring:
1) a decent bike- doesn't have to be great, but in working order and adequate for riding on trails. Here's a guide: if the brake cable housings are neon, go in to the Bike Zoo and get a new one.
2) a decent helmet- I know, they're hot and geeky, but brain injuries are WAY geekier. You don't want one.
3) water, food, whatever
4) You must have some rock and roll cred. Calculated thusly:
You must have at least one of the following:
a) play(ed) in a band
b) own at least 200 vinyl LPs
c) can quote Spinal Tap (other than "this one goes to 11" everybody knows that one)
d) can name any five consecutive Beatles LPs, in order of release, including year of release
e) have ever ruined a perfectly good 4 track by spilling beer in it
f) know that "Radar Love" is by Golden Earing, not White Lion (or is it Whitesnake? Who gives a shit...)
g) work(ed) in a record store (a real one, not one in the Mall- Record Bar counts)Come one, come all. The ride location will be determined by interest and skill/endurance level. We're thinking Haw Ridge in Oak Ridge. Oh yeah, bring a tube/ patch kit if ya got one.

I bought my first album (Kiss-Alive) at the Record Bar. It was the only record store I knew about, or that my parents would let me go to.
