for fun CD try these phrases:
'another one bites the dust-a" - 'it's fun to smoke marijauna'
' still those voices are calling from far away, wakes you up in the middle of the nite, just to hear them say...welcome to the HC...on & on' (hotel cali.) - i forget what it sez but it was spooky
songs to try:
opening to ELO's 'fire on high' (i think that was the name of it) - blantantly backwards message - sez: the music is reversable but time is not -turn back-turn back-turn back
p. mccartneys 'waterfalls' - i forget what the back mess. was
black oak ark. - some song that had some really garbeled words at the end of it and then said NATASsss-NATASsss-NATASsss. backwards it ended up saying some thing about worshiping satan.
a real cool use of this technique can be heard on RUSH's 'natural science'(song two of the trilogy) from "permenent waves". vocals were sung forward then played backwards (by reversing the tape - this was pre-software days (1978)), lots of reverb was added to the backwards words. when played forward had a super cool vocal effect. ya gotta hear it.

Try Pink Floyd's the Wall for more. Side one opens with ...He came into the room. And the end of side four says...and somebody spoke. You gotta spin the record backwards to get that.
So now you know what I was doin in 1980. Spinning records backwards on dope. What an intellectual giant! Oh yeah, and Wh-Wh cut a record before they broke up and it said... the devils got a pitchfork and he's comin to get ya. True story, just ask Wallbanger.

i was spin vynal too way back in the good ol' days. that's how i found the crap on hotel cali. ijust thought CD was a bit too young to remember LPs so i didn't mention it. :)
thanx for the info on black oak. guess i ain't the only one with a bunch of useless info in my empty head.

Some of the stigma surrounding backmasking in popular music may
in fact come from the whole aura of occultist sin that seems to

to one's record collection backwards seems most prevalent amongst
christians and may stem from something Crowley wrote, that if a
man wants to practice magick he has to "train himself to think
backwards by external means, as set forth here following,
a) let him learn to write backwards
b) let him learn to walk backwards
c) let him constantly watch, if convenient, films and listen
to records reversed..."
