I did not know i would gain any responses. I was just stating a fantasy situation. Like, if I could have what i wanted this is what it might be. I have always given myself in return for others sffections. I believe that you have to be somebody to yourself before you can be to anybody else. I'm just tired of getting screwed.

Simple fact of the situation is that from out of the womb and into the tumb we're all basically alone in this world. Sure, the lives of other people overlap, like them Venn diagrams you mighta learned in school, but all that's just temporary. And you might not think so, but unless you're some new kind of human, you're screwing other people over the same way other people are screwing you. And eventually you even get tired of putting up with the shit of the people you love the most.

Yeah, it just hurts more when you're young, but as you get older you grow a pretty tough skin to the point where even if you do get screwed over, you can just shrug and see where you probably contributed to it and you can cut that other person more slack.

Anybody who thinks they got the perfect relationship is delusional.

Anybody who thinks they got the perfect relationship is delusional.

Since all life is illusory, is that a bad thing?

If both of you think it's the perfect relationship, doesn't that mean it is such?

I would have to debate you about whether all life is illusory. My guess is that life does have some real-ness to it, because it's so remarkably, consistently mundane for most people.

If you can keep it up forever. Problem is very few people can keep up their delusions for the long haul. One day one of those people in relationship wakes up and realizes they're really in hell, then it all hits the fan. Then whadda you got? All that time wasted.

Show me one example of something that isn't a waste of time?

Frank: Hey, this girl doesn't like guys screwing her over.

Ernest: Well, then she should probably stop dating interesting guys.

Frank: Yep. All the interesting guys are assholes. Most of them have drug problems and/or psychotic tendencies.

Ernest: But a boring guy would never keep her interested in bed!

Frank: It's a thorny conundrum, and no mistake, Mr. Vandemar.

Ernest: Should we tell her that there are thousands of guys who would never screw her over?

Frank: No, because those guys would also never screw her. Not the way she wants it.

Ernest: And she'd never respect them, because they're pansy sensitive types.

Frank: After all, we're still apes, and deep down, most girls still want the Alpha Male, as demonstrated by his ability to play guitar, or be president, or tell jokes, or drink beer, or shoot heroin.

Ernest: Speaking of which, wasn't Planet of the Apes disappointing?

Frank: It sure was. But it was still pretty good on the whole.

Ernest: Like most men.

Frank: Like most men.

Who says men have to be either be boring or bad?

There has to be such a man who is interesting and fun and great in bed...But there is something to be said for a man who possesses fortitude and ambition...with those a man can not be boring...And come on! Of course we want someone who can tell jokes! What good is anything if you can't laugh at it?!

Was Planet of the Apes really disappointing?

Every single interesting girl I've ever known in my entire life.

So, as a man, you are telling me that all men can be classified into two categories: they are either alcoholic drug addicted women beaters or are so lame I'd chew off a limb to escape...

OR maybe the problem is that you are still talking to girls. I like to think us interesting women know better.

Noooo.... what I'm saying is that womyn who I've known have always gone only for interesting guys. Every interesting guy I've known has had some measure of self-destructive, or other-destructive, behavior. Including myself. Now, am I an alcoholic drug-addicted wife-beater? No. Do I drink more than I should? Sure. Do I smoke more pot than I should? Yep. Do I beat my wife? Never.

Stop looking at the world in terms of black and white. Learn the value of metaphor. If I tell you "girls like A and not B", that doesn't mean "A and B are the only things in existance, and everything is either EXTREME A or EXTREME B". Sheesh.

And as far as getting all stupid about saying "women" instead of "girls", grow the fuck up. They're just words. Do you think I care if someone calls me a "boy", even though I'm 27? No. I don't care. Because I know it's just a word.

I have to agree with Hunter Rose on this one, almost. Maybe you keep getting 'screwed' because you are too quick to give yourself to a relationship, and one side (his) becomes dependent too fast. Take time for yourself and believe only in you.
