What doesn't make as much sense is the apparent lack of CARE that Californians have that their lovable congressman was indeed...no family man.

In fact, Condit has spent the better part of many years cheating on his wife, and if you believe the worst, has done so with men as well. We've had accusations and gossip ladies and gents,

and all we need now is the recently found videotape.

Of all pledges we take in life, of all the contracts we sign, of all the oral agreements we make, job offers taken in print....NOTHING rises to the level of marriage. It is the union of man and woman, an economic contract which is recognized by the LAWS of every state. And although we all know what questions will be asked in the ceremony, none of us are surprised that the same questions are always asked....over and over...in each and every wedding.

That's because in one sense, a wedding is the proclaimation of everlasting love and committment. By the very definition of it we are putting our credibility on the line.

Condit has been a dismal failure as a man because he REFUSED to keep his wedding vows.

Actually, and I say this clearly and with utmost resolve-- guys like Condit make me SICK.

I think he is a piece of crap. And I'd say that no matter which party he was in. When you look at the cheating husband paradigm, it always ends up with tons of hurt people. Even more than that, the cheater TAKES OUT OF PLAY a woman who would be available for other men. In other words, with Condit's wife at home waiting on him, he already HAD HIS WOMAN. To further screw it all up, he is seeing Chandra on the side. So in essence, he was taken her 'out of the running'...

therefore guys like him make it even harder for the young males who would naturally be asking Chandra out! There's one less Chandra to ask out.

This economic way of looking at the fact that America is 51% female and 49% male (they outlive us so there are always a little more women than men) shows you yet another tragedy of his affair.

Regardless of whether Condit had her killed or not, and even if she turns up alive, the man should RESIGN IMMEDIATELY.

By not doing so shows you quite a bit of his VANITY and CONCEIT, and actually the lack of morality among his own constituents. He has been a failure as a man. He PLEDGED his vows on his own integrity and honour and character, and if he had wanted to cheat he should have gotten a divorce. By doing so anyway he dishonours himself, and congress.

We have a RIGHT TO EXPECT a decent level of integrity in our leaders.
When they dissappoint by falling into moral decay like this man did, they should resign and go home. Let another person lead.

Wanna know what I'd like to see? I'd like to see some blue dress wearing, heel clicking republican women in the House of Representatives. Heck, if the men can't do better than Condit did, this ole southern boy will vote for a woman in a heartbeat!

Another point I wonder about: if HALF of that house of representatives were women, would there be more of a call for Condit to resign?

The man has GOT TO GO. The sooner the better. He's a disgrace to us all, and there really ARE men who have gotten married and gone their whole lives without cheating on their wives. Those men, who have raised children, and sacrificed for their wives and children, are the KNIGHTS among us.

If you can look yourself in the mirror, and every man has to when he SHAVES, and look at your wedding band and say to yourself that you never cheated, then you have PROVEN to the world what is the finest calling for a man--

to love a woman, and love her with all your resolve and might...

in that sense, the lowest janitor you've ever seen who remained faithfull, the married and FAITHFULL garbage man on the back of a garbage truck...is TEN TIMES the man that Condit is.

As John Cougar Mellancamp once said...

an honest man's pillow is his peace of mind.

So let it be written; so let it be done.
