and why is it, that when some one on the blab sees fit to make a negative comment about blue cats, it usually contains some reference to the pilot light.
are people at the light really that worried about us taking their customers? we don't even try to get the same people as they do. nothing wrong with their crowd, but we are trying to present a different kind of place with a different kind of music. i hope we don't take any of PL's crowd because i think the people who run PL are doing a good thing by providing k-town with a place to see some of the acts they bring in. personally i would have rather been at the pilot tonite because they did have a good show going on.
we have never tried or said or done anything that we thought would hurt any of the other businesses in the old city, but yet there are still blabbers who thrash in the name of the pilot light.so you hate us, but the feeling is NOT mutual. we wish you luck.(& please keep up the sun. nite movies, we think they are great).
i guess it could be worse. you could be like that dick-head on the corner, who recently told a local group that "if they played at blue cats, they would NEVER play at his club again". and b4 anyone asks, i not talking about Mark.

jason and i are not worried about competition with blue cats, plum. in fact, we do not wish ill will toward any old city businesses. i can't remember another time when there were so many (and so diverse) clubs and bars serving downtown knoxville within walking distance of each other. the platinum, blue cats, barley's, patrick sullivan's, lucille's, manhattan's, new city, fiction, rainbow room, 319, pilot light, etcetera-- knoxville should have it so good!
a quick note on spatial relations: just as the same amount of water appears differently when displayed in two different sized/shaped containers, the same "small" crowd contained within blue cats' space will appear much larger when placed in pilot light space. is the club half empty or is it half full?
finally, i must admit that i'm confused by your offerings of friendly coexistence contained in the same post as a thinly veiled threat of invoking the fire marshal. what gives?

i know you & jason aren't behind the shit talking, but a lot of your patrons are (1st it was about your putting up lights, then about the website). is this your fault?? NO. can you do something about it? NO. should anyone blame you or even point a finger your way?? NO, NO, NO.
we at blue cats also share your excitment about the old city. it is a good time for the old city (& k-town in general) and we are THRILLED to be a part of it. i can't tell you how proud it makes me feel when i have a visiting artist tell me that the old city is just as jumpin' as some other larger cities known for their live music venues (austin, new orleans). we do have a very good thing going on, and we all should feel proud.
again, no threat intended. we wish you nothing but success. your success also benefits us (and visey-versey) as well as all old city businesses. and together we can all feel proud of what we are doing to bring k-town something great.
ps to hank: no you didn't say anything directly against BC, but of all the clubs that you saw were 'dead' that evening, you only mentioned BC (not once but twice). please re-read your post thru my eyes and maybe you can see where i could take it as a negative post.
too sensitive?? yeah, i guess i was. but, after all this is my lively-hood. this is how i feed my kids & pay the bills. wouldn't you feel the same if you thought (no matter how erronous that thought) that someone was talking shit about your place of employment.

Jesus, lighten up. I kicked in my $0.02 about the website, not because I'm a jealous patron of PL (I don't even live in freakin' Tennessee), but because I was giving you some friendly advice that I thought might help you out. Sheesh...

if i recall correctly your post wasn't as friendly as you make it out to be. you tooted up PL's website and then asked why BC didn't have one as good as PL, when in fact you hadn't even seen BC's website. why didn't you ask where the website for Manhattans was? why didn't you ask where Campus Pub's site was? P. sully's? Prince Deli? etc. etc. etc.
no you only asked about BC. why? can you not see how i would consider this a dig at my club. it's the same thing hank did, saying PL was so good and then using BC as an example of not-so-good. why single out one club? why not mention all the other clubs in a bad light?
no hard feelings, just wondering why y'all are pickin' on lil' ol' me?
anyone who thinks that i'm all upset about this, doesn't know me very well. i get on here and talk shit for fun, i never take anything seriously. no anger. when peeps on the blab stop talkin' shit to/with me, that's when my feelings will be hurt. for about 5 min.
