Thompson's was open. They will be there until the end of the month, possibly longer.

Yeah, didn't you hear, Jesse? They built a Wal-Mart on State St over the weekend. The downtown Thompson's is closed, but there is one on University, and there are a few Walgreens close to downtown, all accessible by bus or trolley or foot.

You know, I'd take a downtown Wal-Mart over Universe Knoxville. At least the bastards would pay some property taxes. And maybe it could be, uh, like a hip downtown Wal-Mart with, you know, a little cybercafe and martini bar. The greeters could wear black turtlenecks.

Walmart dt would be interesting. I would prefer a Target though if it had to happen. ;) Thanks for the ideas on the film, too.

Oh heck yeah ... if a major department store were to move back downtown, let it be Target. Do they have film developing? I can't remember. I'll bet the one out at Turkey Creek does. It has everything. It's the "Wal-Mart Killer Target."
