OK, first he has to get elected governor of Louisiana, but his odds look good. Bobby Jindal is a fascinating guy. Conservative Republican, of course -- what, you thought our first non-white president would be a liberal? And I know it's a long shot no matter what, but he's a young guy, so he could serve two terms as governor, and assuming he manages to do that without going to prison (an occupational hazard for Louisiana governors), it seems to me he'd be a perfect Republican vice-presidential candidate: a minority to bolster their minority cred, a Southerner (went to Lousiana public schools!), and a conservative. And if he was veep, then of course that would potentially put him in line to be prez. Yeah, there are a lot of ifs in that scenario. I'm just saying he's one to watch. Not that I agree with his positions on a lot of things, obviously, but he at least seems smart as hell.
