Boston Public Library The floors, walls and vaulted ceiling are of pink Knoxville marble; the floor is inlaid with patterns of brown Knoxville and Levanto marble.

I'd guess that every pre-1950 elementary school has bathroom stalls made out of it.

That first one is a Jack Neely style question and I'm sure he could expound expansively.
The second, come'on Scott! The U.S. Courthouse and Post Office is pink marble. It's been renovated in the last year and now houses the state appellate courts, post office and Union Planters bank. Sam Furrow, the new owner, did a nice job rehabbing the bldg after years of neglect by it's former owner, the U.S. Gov't.
The "modern" state court building that is now out of use, catty corner across the street, is the same marble.
I wonder if the Customs House marble is local. I bet it is. It looks like the white marble that got sent to Wash. DC for the monuments there.
