The levels of intrigue, backstabbing, institutional rivalries, family grudges and god knows what all else are completely mind-boggling. This is what a paranoid complex system looks like, everybody's afraid of everybody else in so many different directions that they all end up being afraid of themselves without even knowing it. If we're actually in some kind of war on terror, terror's winning. Just look at how frightened everyone is.
