It's genius. (...which is, coff coff, why I linked to it a few months back...) :)

"coff coff"

Yeah, I'd get that checked out. It's going around here, too. Everybody's getting sick.

It can't be the same virus--don't you know they get everything in NYC before the rest of us? Arrogant bastards.

They apparently get links to video clips of George Bush and Tony Blair singing "Gay Bar" before the rest of us. I can tell you that.

It's kinda hard to keep up here. Like, I can't tell if the Jamaican music revival (leading to massive reissues of the last 50 years of Jamaican music) is beginning or ending. If I know about it, it can't be beginning, and is probably closer to ending. So by the time I end up knee-deep in dancehall and Soul Jazz compilations, Jamaican music will be soooo last winter. Fortunately, the music itself has no awareness of its hipness quotient, so it still sounds good.

I feel for you. I mean, there's nothing safe from imminent hipster credibility. I never wear my Motorhead T-shirt anymore; I'm afraid someone might think I'm cool.

Do people actually wear trucker hats? I've read about this way more than I've seen it. I mean, I've seen them for sale, but I can count on about eight fingers the number of people I've actually seen wearing them. (not counting people on MTV and in ads, but I don't believe them)

Good lord, they wear them in the Midwest. I could go down to the street in front of my office and see a dozen of them in five minutes. And they seem to be mandatory for admission to a high school football game.

I saw a guy at the Yo La Tengo show last week who was like the Platonic ideal of an indie kid. Nothing against the guy, and I don't know why I noticed him out of everybody else, but he had the full uniform on. Trucker hat, glasses with black plastic frames, a mechanic's jacket, and Vans. (Plus the ultimate hipster accessory -- a really cute indie girl. So maybe I'm just jealous.)
