20. If a terrorist organization attacked America tomorrow by spraying anthrax over a large city, would you blame George W. Bush for not doing enough?

not at all. went went after osama for a variation of that theme. and rightly so.

however, saddam didnt do that. he didnt claim he would. we even had inspectors from the UN in his country trying to prove he couldnt even if he wanted to. he didnt have the technology. osama had been making that claim for a while. too bad we helped train him in the first place. osama is a religious freak willing to commit suicide for his cause. saddam is fat lazy oaf who just wanted to sit in his expensive palaces and be left alone. you really think he would risk all he had to attack us?

funny, for all the talk of saddam being such a threat, i can think of a few other nations that are giving the US a big "fuck you" and parading their long range missles through their streets right now, most capable of carrying nuclear warheads(which they are working on), and nary a word about "emminent threat" and "evil dictators" from W about it.

so, you are saying we should go after every country premptively that we dont like? wow, you would have a been a great spokesperson during the cold war. ive heard that nuclear winters arent that bad. as the bumper sticker goes: 'Diplomacy-It Was Getting Old Anyway'.

yeah, by that reasoning, half the countries on the planet would have ample justification to preemptively strike the u.s. y'know, cause we've got more weapons (mass destruction or otherwise) than anybody else. and we're obviously not afraid to attack unprovoked.

It's just a 'yes' or 'no.' Must be too hard for you to understand.

Still didn't get your answer, fluff, my 'man.'

Again, If a terrorist organization attacked America tomorrow by spraying anthrax over a large city, would you blame George W. Bush for not doing enough?

besides, uh you replied to jeffx, not me there. seems you cant read well either. 'yes or no'-that funny. i guess those are the only ways you can think of things; black or white, yes or no, for us or against us. such simplistic thinking. not surprising though.

...not to mention all the countries that would attack each other by using the same justification as we did on Iraq. WWIII indeed. of course, some of those nations havent done so, i guess cause they still believe in the silly notion of diplomacy.

OK, so apparently all the diplomacy we TRIED for the last TEN YEARS wasn't enough for you. So prehaps we should pull out and just say "pretty please" to get him to do what he siad he would.

yeah that would be real convincing coming from the nation that feels its too good have to answer to an international judicial court, the kyoto protocol, etc. so you are saying there is a time limit on diplomacy(yep, you sound like W)? and if i remember correctly, we WERE trying diplomacy until W ordered the inspectors out so that he could bomb the crap out of them. as stated before, if we had not gone that step, inspections would still be taking place, and many of our fellow americans would be safely at home with their loved ones. oh, and by the way, diplomacy WAS working, since the inspectors had yet to find anything! and if invading was such a good alternative, why is it most of the other nations in the world didnt go along with it? just because we say it doesnt make it right. and quite honestly, given our current economic climate, id be worried less what saddam was doing(once again, he made no threats against the US), and more about fixing the economy. a war is not exactly a good idea during a time of fiscal crisis.

Jesus Christ! Do you actually believe the crap you just spouted??? "Diplomacy was working"???? How do you figure, when Saddam was renigging on every term, ousted the inspectors, hid his WMD's and generally said "fuck kyou" to the UN?
And for that matter, when do you consider to be a GOOD time to go to war?

"And for that matter, when do you consider to be a GOOD time to go to war?"

uh, how bout when weve been attacked, like after Pearl Harbor and 9/11? by pre-emptively attacking a nation that had made no prior interest in attacking us and against the recommendation of most of the other nations of the world was an ego trip for W, pure and simple. even Iran and NK have shown themselves to be more of a threat then Iraq ever had. but you just keep towing the party line and nodding your head in agreement of everything W has told you to.

Gee, wouldn't it be better to know BEFORE lives are lost? As in Pearl HArbor if we had known we were going to be attacked, we could have been prepared. Knowing then would have saved untold thousands of lives on both sides.
But I guess you feel it's better to try and recover from an attack rather than prevent it.
No, I don't believe everything W tells me, but I am smart enough to know the results of not being prepared.

"Gee, wouldn't it be better to know BEFORE lives are lost? As in Pearl HArbor if we had known we were going to be attacked, we could have been prepared. Knowing then would have saved untold thousands of lives on both sides."

and as ive stated before, if we use pre-emtpive strikes, whats to keep other nations from doing the same against each other? its a great blueprint for WWIII, aint it? and keep in mind, japan pre-emptively struck us-using your logic, that makes them correct in their decision, since THEY saw US as a threat. this is where diplomacy doesnt stand a chance, becase we have people like you on both sides that say "we need to attack first so that you dont have a chance to!" while the other side says, "nope, WE are going to attack first before you can!". wow, what a great world we live in.

only difference with iraq is, they made no interests in attacking us. they hated us, but hate doesnt always equate action. your point is completely theoretical, the "what if" theory. by your reasoning, even the most undeveloped tribe of natives in a village in south american could SOMEDAY develop to the point of being able to theoretically/hypothetically attack us, so we should probably do missle strikes on their little village now, huh? in fact, theorretically every citizen of iraq COULD be a future terrorist, so i guess we should pre-emptively strike back at that and start executing everyone over there too!

being prepared involves reliable intelligence. pre-emptively attacking a nation with unreliable sources and lies is another. the rest of the world saw it, thats why they didnt go along with it. too bad you and W could have cared less. attacking another nation without probable cause and against the wishes of the rest of the citizens on this planet makes us no better then Japan on that day.
