I recent heard that "Common Grounds" over at Ladd's (sic) Landing in Kingston was having a open-mic night. You know the whole read your short story/poetry/beatnic (sic) sort of thing. I can't seem to get anyone on the phone over there and I'm working till doomsday, so I figured I'd drop in hear and ask if anyone knew what was going on over there.

They are planning on running it Tuesday nights, but the plans aren't final yet.

They close at 9pm, so it's going to be an early night.

9 PM? Christ that's too early in the night for anything half-way decent. I guess they're worry about maing sure all the little kiddies are home in bad so they can't get sleey-weepy for school the next day. Besides I wonder what sort of "Beatnick" crowd they're actually going to draw for this thing? Hmmm, maybe I should drop by there one night and see what's teh deal. I just can't see there being a real art culture in that town.
