Photo Essay...Rober Frank.....what a disgrace

The fact Robert Frank's name was even mentioned is enough to make ones stomach turn....the photos included in this weeks 'america' essay are about as broad as Cumberland Avenue.....and about as insightful as Kingston Pike.....absolutely pitiful.

Cool handle ya got there.

The old Kinks tune got me at age 15...

"She walked up to me and she asked me to dance
I asked her name and in a dark brown voice she said Lola
Lo la Lola..."

didn't take me long to see what she was talkin' about...

Cool choice of a message board handle....

I couldn't agree more, for what that's worth on the 'blab. This article made me grit my teeth like a nervous parent at a child's school play.

Robert Frank, where are you tonight?

Hmm. I'm not familiar (to my knowledge) with Frank's photos, but the exhibit on Gallery 1010 had some very nice work in it. Perhaps I am missing some point?

Robert Frank looks like this:

and this

and this

So yeah, I didn't see anything in a quick scan of the UT project's website that was quite like that. But there were some nice enough shots, and I admire the spirit of the project.

I can see a definite ... narrative point (?) going on in Frank's photos. I also checked him out on the web and found quite a few images. The Frank-inspired exhibit does seem to have a bit more randomness to the shots. But still some nice photography.
