"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members. It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons."
Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY), Oct 10, 2002,
So are you saying with leading luminaries in the Senate who hold beliefs such as this, it's better to let a bloodthirsty dictator develop and acquire those KNOWN stockpiles of chemical, biological and, to quote Hillary, NUCLEAR weapons and do nothing? If not, what's the alternative?
And lest you forget, Clinton (Bill) launched his 'war against terror' (conveniently upon impeachment proceedings) to 'protect the Free World.'
Would you like me to give you some quotes from Bill about what it was convenient for him to think about Saddam at the time?
The only real reason we didn't disarm Hussein while Clinton was in power was because he was too busy conducting opinion polls on how to deliver speeches to the public. That and the fact that he "loathed" the U.S. military (his word, not mine.)
no, i'd say we need to vote him out of office.

Since rebuilding the thing is just about to break our already broken deficit laden treasury, we gotta go back to the U.N. and plead for cash and soldiers.
We invaded back in March-- and hell it's now freakin October next week; if we were gonna find some sarin gas we'd a found it by now. We got no VX nerve agent. We got no anthrax. We got no nuclear rocket plants. We ain't even got ordinary rocket plants.
We're more blue than Liv Tyler's eyes about the lovable fact we haven't found any, but the hard part is facing down all these folks who think we're really in there for the oil, at the end of a 480 billion dollar deficit with unemployment at a 20 year high....
we've tax cutted our way to a gutted out treasury, and the one place that is hirin' makes cruise missiles.
The Euros, so hung up on human rights, think we're operatin' on a big double standard, where our own citizens get lawyers for free but arrested foreigners are 'enemy combatants' locked up in Cuban cages like animals. They really wanted us to give up these psychos to the ICC (International Criminal Court) so they could spend 4 years just prepping the case in time for the 5 appointed defense lawyers to shred the evidence, and diseminate exactly HOW we found out about them. Nothing like compromised security and intelligence methods exposed for the entire arab world to see, and in the mean time the savages would be kept in high cotton, treated like political prisoners in a halfway house in Helsinki, or Strassbourg.
How do ya spell 'big plucking mess' momma?
As soon as we back out of Afghanistan, some new breed of killer psychopathic foaming at the mouth muslim group will take it over, and be back to beatin' their femmes, and making them wear the burkas again.
Poppy plants swayin' in the breeze.
NOT FINDING those weapons is the biggest albatross hanging 'round this president's neck, and I think it's a part of the reason why his approval rating has dropped ten points in 5 months. Add in to the mix this sick and staggering economy, and ya got the Washington Blues... for an admin that slid in the back door with a half million less votes.
We're sorry Mister President, it seems that the french weren't buying enough oil from them, and they jes didn't have the dog gone CASHOLA to build any sarin plants. And we're gonna need ya to go to them boys in congress and git us about 90 billion for more 'reconstruction'...
and we uh....don't take a check. Cash is always nice, though. Surely you guys have got the CASH, what with all those new jobs that yer tax cuts made....

In Iraq, the stated reason for going in was imminent danger posed by Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction. As the WMDs have yet to be found, the imminent danger argument becomes a little flimsy, so now the administration tells us the mission was to liberate the oppressed Iraqi people. We got the bait-and-switch in Iraq. The natural human reaction to finding out about the bait-and-switch is to be displeased. It's not hard to follow.

Which isn't even to say we shouldn't have broken it, because what was there had to be dealt with. It's just that we did it in the clumsiest possible way. I mean, we're such fucking bulls in china shops, you know? Really, how do you liberate 25 million people from one of the worst dictatorships on earth and still manage to make most of the world think you're the bad guy? You've gotta be pretty goddamn witless to do that.
Iraq needs help and Iraq needs to rebuilt, for everybody's sake, and we are going to have to help pay for it. But a lot of us also don't trust the guys who fucked it all up so badly to take a whole bunch more of our money and try to fix it. We can't kick out the top guys until next year, but at the very least Rumsfeld needs to go. That guy's fucking cracked. Get rid of him, get someone with a better head on their shoulders in that position, and then we can talk about the money for Iraq.

I am still completely pissed off at this administration and have started a list of everyone that will never get my vote. Which starts with the white house. As far as I'm concerned anybody who supported the war will never get my vote, I have no trust in them.
The list starts like this:
George Bush
Tom Delay
Colin Powell
Cheney
Rumsfield
