3Com announced that one third of its networking employees will be sacked this year, as 'part of an effort to save money and improve efficiency'.....

dontcha jes LOVE the way they put that? Just fuck over a thousand people out of a job, and yet 'these actions will further enhance 3Com's ability to bring competitive yadda yadda yadda' said Bruce Claflin, the company's highly paid and over rated CEO, who WILL BE KEEPING his job.

Oh, and the company will be opening a new center in Taiwan, probably with the cash they would have paid employees. A company spokesperson said that this 'brand new tech center' should be 'fully staffed with Tawianese employees in May 2004.'

Nothing like American jobs headed overseas. Some more lovely benefits of that NAFTA stuff, huh?
