Wesley Clark: a War Criminal?

Posted by run n gun ® , Sep 20,2003,01:33   MetroBlab

From The Guardian, Tuesday August 3, 1999:

"No sooner are we told by Britain's top generals that the Russians played a crucial role in ending the west's war against Yugoslavia than we learn that if Nato's supreme commander, the American General Wesley Clark, had had his way, British paratroopers would have stormed Pristina airport threatening to unleash the most frightening crisis with Moscow since the end of the cold war.

"I'm not going to start the third world war for you," General Sir Mike Jackson, commander of the international K-For peacekeeping force, is reported to have told Gen Clark when he refused to accept an order to send assault troops to prevent Russian troops from taking over the airfield of Kosovo's provincial capital."

It's amazing how much time conservatives are spending on a guy who just entered the race for the Democratic nomination. From run n gun to Michael Savage to Fox News to Rush Limbaugh, they're all spending an inordinate amount of time trying to come up with some combination of mostly made-up nonsense about Clark to hurt his candidacy. All other things being equal, Clark should barely be on their radar. With current polling numbers, they should be spending far more time attacking Gephardt.

Why all the fuss? Conservatives know that Wesley Clark can beat Bush the General election, and they're terrified. Plain and simple.

"Bring it on!"

i was unfortunately forced to hear 20 minutes of "savage nation" on talk radio at work (guy is a moron, didn't he get fired for telling a guest/caller he hoped they got AIDS?)and herr savage was screaming about socialism, among other things, and doing a bit on wesley clark. he said clark barely won the whole kosovo thing only because milosevic pulled out at the last moment for reasons uncertain since, as savage says, (again this guy is a moron)that clark was actually losing and they were winning. savage kept going on and on (his voice is sehr obnoxious)about clark almost losing to a 3rd rate military and how embarassing that was. bla bla.

why do you and the neocons hate the military so much? you guys prattle on about how patriotic you are, but in the end you are the most unpatriotic people out there. folks like Clark and Kerry actually have fought and served in the military. and yet W hasnt. he DID order our boys to go fight, against the wishes of most of the world; now our boys are dying over there. he has ignored the wishes of the families to bring the boys home. he even had the audacity to claim the war was over months ago, during a photo op that most vets have found insulting; but then months later he backtracked and said they would be over there even longer then he originally said. hes even cut veteran benefits, fer chrissakes!

so for all the tough guy talk about supporting the military and being patriotic, in the end its you guys who are against the miliary. for us or against us? well i guess it is you and your neocon pals that are against us, since the minute someone comes along that has actually served in the military, you guys start spouting hatred at them. how sad that people who have actually fought in wars have to put up with that. well guess what? im going to do my patriotic duty and vote someone into office that is a decorated veteran who has fought for the rights you guys claim to support. if youd rather vote for a guy that makes an unprovoked attack on another nation, lies about why we needed the war and then says "oops sorry, false information" months later, who has never actually seved in the military yet has the nerve to cut vets benefits and STILL tries to play the patriotism card, so be it. i guess some of us have more respect for the military and the people who serve in it then the present administration does.

I'm all for the military

all for bringing their asses home to their families. When we first sent them over there it was supposidly to liberate Iraq. Now they are
calling it the war on terrorism, very easy to sell to most Americans
after last 9/11. All you gotta do is say the word terrorist and you got
a bunch of dumb rednecks grabbing their shotguns, and you have the majority of the citizens supporting anything they say as long as it's against terrorism. The best Goddamn move we could make against tefrrorism now is BRING HOME OUR TROOPS! Goddamn haven't they suffered enough over this. a freind of mine told me when he first heard we were going on this little field trip over there the first thing that came to
his mind was Dick Nixon saying Quagmire and he just thought oh lord here we go.
Well, I been seing impeach BUSH stickers more often. Of course that means nothing, the people of this country have absolutely no say over
what goes on anymore, and I'm not sure we ever did. But rights are being stripped left and right now all in the name of Homeland security. I saw where some city/town up north had jumped on the band wagon and put up
cameras all over town(i think it was in michigaN) the people were totally for it. Thing is this particular town didn't have a problem with crime, when ask about this the sherrif, chief of police, or some pig answered And we're not going to have a crime problem either.
That's at least the third or forth special i saw on t.v. on the same subject. The big question seems to be is this an invasion of privacy (pig said no 'cause that not on civilians property) The people say "If
ya aint doing no wrong you got nothing to worry about, and if it keeps them safe it's worth it. One elderly man said I sleep better knowing they're up there. I'm still all for home protection, if one is able
bodied and armed to deal with criminals on his own, rather then
getting the cops involved it be more likely stop nonsense like b-e and
car jack'. Let somone jack some of the good ole boys I know there more likely to go do gettin' jacked. I just lost almost all trust in the poweres that be

so now you are insulting a decorated war hero?! how Un-american! thats very unpatriotic of you! that means you are against the US military(i love using neocon logic)!

"Yugoslavia than we learn that if Nato's supreme commander, the American General Wesley Clark, had had his way". see that work "If" in that sentence? that means it didnt happen. you know, as in "If W hadnt sent our military into Iraq, maybe his ratings wouldnt be so low now, the rest of the world wouldnt hate us, people wouldnt be calling him a liar, our fighting boys would be safe at home and not dying in Iraq, and he could be working on fixing the economy instead". not that you care about our fighting boys, since youve been on here trashing a war hero quite a few times. lets face it, if he were such a failure, would he have all of these;

"Among his military decorations are the Defense Distinguished Service Medal (five awards), Distinguished Service Medal (two awards), Silver Star, Legion of Merit (four awards), Bronze Star Medal (two awards), Purple Heart, Meritorious Service Medal (two awards) and the Army Commendation Medal (two awards), NATO Medal for Service with NATO on Operations in Relation to Kosovo, NATO Medal for Service with NATO on Operations in Relation to the Former Republic of Yugoslavia.

His Foreign awards include the Honorary Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (United Kingdom); Commander of the Legion of Honor (France); Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany; Knight Grand Cross in the Order of Orange-Nassau, with Swords (Netherlands); Grand Officer of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Italy; Grand Cross of the Medal of Military Merit (Portugal); The Commander's Cross with Star of the Order of Merit of Republic of Poland; Grand Officer of the Order of Merit of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg; Grand Medal of Military Merit (White Band) (Spain); The Grand Cordon of the Order of Leopold (Belgium); Cross of Merit of the Minister of Defense First Class (Czech Republic); Order of Merit of the Hungarian Republic; Commander's Cross, The Silver Order of Freedom of the Republic of Slovenia; Madarski Konnik Medal (Bulgaria); Commemorative Medal of the Minister of Defence of the Slovak Republic First Class (Slovakia); First Class Order of Lithuanian Grand Duke Gediminas (Lithuania); Order of the Cross of the Eagle (Estonia); The Skandeberg Medal (Albania); Order of Merit of Morocco; Order of Merit of Argentina; The Grade of Prince Butmir w/Ribbon and Star (Croatia) and the Military Service Cross of Canada."

W has, what, a secret decoder ring he found in a box of Lucky Charms? its sad that you have to trash such a decorated veteran; shows you have no respect for someone who has actually fought in wars. now get to work ya dirty hippie-the breakfast shift is almost over.
