If the liberals in the House and Senate had any sense at all they would leave the energy bill alone and give us the Anwar drilling. We can't continue to be held prisoner by foreign oil. That was the failings of the Carter administration, when gas prices in this country his $1.75+ a gallon. We couldn't negotiate from a position of strength and had to bend our needs to the foreigners (who didn't like us anyway) and pay what they wanted. If we were drilling in Anwar, they would have to compete with our own oil fields for price, and they would have to come down on theirs or loss part of their market.
Wouldn't want King of Saudi, to think we'd undercut his price.
