and damn he's got the charisma thing going! He gave a 5-10 minute talk outside the convention center to a respectable sized crowd before speaking at the truman day dinner . told the story of his first and only time to run for civilian office. class pres in high school. he said he lost by one vote because he voted for the other guy. then said if he runs for president he'll do it to win. i believe him. he shook my hand and said thanks for coming out. i said no prob, general.
very fuckin cool.

there were a couple of people campaigning for Dean downtown near the harbor on saturday. i passed them once and they stopped me and asked me if i wanted to sign up for emails, help out,etc. i told them sorry, im holding out for General Clark. they looked at me as if i had just told them i was a Grand Dragon in the Klan. fuck em, i wouldnt vote for Dean anyway.

Yeah, I met him too. He's got a firm handshake (which is even more remarkable when you consider he took a bullet through that hand in Vietnam...), and made a quiet aside to me in my brief converation with him that more or less confirmed that he's going to run.

He'll make a strong candidate, he'll beat Bush, and he'll make a good President.
