Apparently he's willing to make endorsements without even learning who of all of the candidates are. Despite at least mentioning all the candidates in other races, he writes:"At-Large Seat B has Chris Woodhull running against long-time former councilwoman Jean Teague" Um, no. Norris Dryer and Elonzo Montgomery are also running in this race. If he's too lazy to take the time to find out who's running, his "insight" has little meaning. ~m.
Conley suck? Maybe not, but MP definitely is starting to bite...

I mean, c'mon, the front-page story about Conley's construction pals disguised as a tribute to 9-11? And the recent endorsement of Haslam? You and I know very well that the majority of MP staffers support Rogero if they support any mayoral candidate at all. Haslam's role as the LSC's (Lucky Sperm Club's) groomed heir apparent is just too damn obvious. At the very least, MP should have an endorsement of Rogero written by one of its senior staff members, Sullivan and Conley be damned. I think the Knoxvillians who really do give a damn about the city's future and aren't comfortable with the way things are support Rogero. Oh yeah, the personals ad on the website main page is a nice touch, too. If you're gonna run ads there, maybe you could convince us it isn't all about the Benjamins by running a link to local restaurants' or clubs' websites? MP definitely cannot claim to be Knoxville's alternative voice any more.

Oh yeah, the personals ad on the website main page is a nice touch, too. If you're gonna run ads there, maybe you could convince us it isn't all about the Benjamins by running a link to local restaurants' or clubs' websites? As far as the website goes, I think the sales staff would get a rueful laugh out of the idea that I operate it in any sort of Benjamin-conscious way. The personals are under the aegis of the classifieds department, separate from the main site, and I figured I could help them out a bit by sticking one of their stock ads there. The club sites are on the music links page.
No jab intended at you, Ian...

...I figured you didn't have a say in what ads were stuck there. But, geeze, a meet-market? Well, at least it ain't ads for Tokyo Spa or Mouse's Ear. Not that that's heinous, mind you....but, Goddamn it, this is the BLAB! How 'bout some class???

MP definitely cannot claim to be Knoxville's alternative voice any more.Read elsewhere online today: 'As far as I'm concerned, this puts the final nail in Metropulse's "alternative" coffin.' 'The change in ownership is working out exactly as many of us feared. So much for the alternative weekly. No point in picking it up any more.' '"Alternative" news, my ass. Good-bye MP, I'll sure miss you.' 'MP may serve some purpose as the NS, junior. Just not any that I'm interested in.' ~m.
