Advice For the Political Left, After Seeing the Debate Tonite

Morgan State University. Bunch of random thoughts here on seeing this debacle. Here's a few of them in no particular order. Graham and Gephardt are both unimpressive-- neither one can beat Bush. Braun and Sharpton lose votes every time they speak-- they lose votes in the Pacific northwest except for Washington and Oregon. They lose votes in the south and middle western USA. Lieberman probably can not win, but Kucinich had the BEST TACT on one issue that I saw tonight-- tell the people that if you elect us these troops will COME HOME. If you vote for this party? The troops will COME HOME. Be united in that front, and it has some real power.

Secondly, joblessness, the economy, the deficit, layoffs, downsizing, and medical care are ALL first run issues. USE THEM FOR EVERYTHING YOU CAN.

It might very well be true that many middle class folks can NO LONGER AFFORD to be republicans.

The Left needs to POUND those issues-- the cost issues, the deficit, the job losses, the eurocentric perspective that we are going it alone and do not CARE about the rest of the world. Out of all these guys, Dean and Edwards have the best chance to beat Bush. Here is why...Dean is fast on his feet, smart off the blocks and looks like a real fighter.

John Edwards, in my opinion, has the very best chance of all of them.

He is younger than Bush, certainly very smart, from the South, charismatic and goodlooking for the camera. He's as slick as any lawyer before a jury can be.
