Why thanks for asking! We did a lot of nothing, but this morning a hatch opened in my backside, and an enormous pile of ashes fell out. I have felt so much better all day. Didn't even know it was bothering me. Stayed inside during the fireworks to protest using the police to keep out ice chests, keeping the vendors from having to compete in an open market. Am I nuts?

I just stayed home. Did the work I always do, and drank. Which ended up in being more productive than it sounds.

I did an afternoon tour of Lowe's and Home Depot, then went to my new old house and pulled staples out of the floor. Then I went to a party up the street and chatted with smart and beautiful women. Really, no kidding.

Did you let them know you had just pulled the staples out of your floor? Imagine the possibilities! (just being silly) ;)

I might have mentioned it, though further implications hadn't occurred to me.

was a fantastic show. it actually got moved to this venue at the last minute, and thank god for that. great stage show, though i miss the backup singers she had on the 'Vespertine' tour. 1st half of the show was more subdued, using just electronic beats and a string quartet. the second half the place went ballistic and almost rave-like with a lot more uptempo numbers and insane lighting productions. personally i dont even think they should have set out folding chairs since everyone stood anyways, if not flat-out danced the second half. and the new tunes she performed from her upcoming album were great as well, and definitely leaves you wanting to hear the whole thing.

Well I spent as much of it as I could at the pool, and that was fine. Now I am going to clean this place up. So I will be doing labor on Labor Day, I guess. I found this table which will work perfectly to hold my propane grill. I have a large round table that is part of patio furniture which used to the platform for it, but I was always cleaning it up, and the grill took up too much room on it.So I am driving thru a local apartment complex and by a dumpster what do I see? A perfectly sized steel table. I have no idea what this thing used to be, maybe a table for outdoor plants or something. So I cleaned it all up, and now I'm gonna use some spare white spray paint to paint it. It will work perfectly for the Jester's outdoor cooking sessions. And he is oh too proud to relate that Blue Mountain's fish cooking recipe works fine with a smoking foil mesquite pouch over the lava rocks. Can't wait fer Autumn nights cooking on this new table. And having it seperate from the round table means I'll have to clean the round table less, and have far more room for company at it. Now, if the Tennis Channel will only be EXCELLENT? I'll rig up a way to watch it on the patio as well, with my 13" colour TV (also a 'find' one afternoon) wired up to Time Warner cable. Hey, I gotta find SOME WAY to recoup the phenomenal loss of what these jackals have the gall to charge me with-- broadband internet, digital cable + sports tier. Come October I hope to be smoking perch and swordfish whilst watching a euro tournament of good pro players. They better have english speaking commentators!
