All of that is quite true.

Not every person 'adores' football. In fact I don't. I quit following it three years ago. Oh, I still watch a game here and there...if I am at somebody's house. I'll halfway watch a game if I am bored and stuck in a place where one is on. But I don't 'keep up' with it anymore.

And I happen to LIKE tennis, dude. In fact, I'm getting the tennis channel from Time Warner on Monday. I gotta buy a whole sports tier package to get it, which I ain't happy about. You might be interested to know that tennis a worldwide sport. INTERPHUCKINGNATIONAL. Not only do I watch tennis, and have a subscription to two tennis magazines, I also PLAY tennis. That's probably something that tons of fat beer drinking guys parked in front of their TVs every Sunday can't imagine-- you follow a sport that YOU CAN PLAY. Kind of a new paradigm there.

You might also be interested to know that the sport of tennis is growing exponentially. New resorts based around tennis are popping up every day. ESPN just signed a huge new deal to broadcast more tennis this year than EVER before in their history. They did 118 hours of programming for Wimbledon this year. CBS, USA Network, NBC, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Classic, and more are now covering events worldwide.

Events that take place WORLDWIDE.

Ok JJJ, I have to ask... will you cite sources for your "All of that is quite true" ? I would be interested in the actual figures that show these occurrences are more common in the population of football players than in the general population.

You can also ask prison counselors if what I said was true-- there are literally hundreds of thousands of locked up criminals who once played football or basketball in high school and college. It's common knowledge. There are dorm rapes at almost every single major university in America, and college athletes do it just as much if not more than other male students. Date rape is a huge problem in America, Amy-- do the research on it and you will see. Date rape drugs are prevalent on college campuses as well.

Pro football athletes, as well as pro basketball athletes, have high arrest rates for drugs, DUI, domestic violence, sexual assault, battery and driving offenses. At one point in the 90's the Dallas Cowboys were known as the Dallas Criminals. Even the locals were dismayed at the crimes daily reported. Ray Carruth killed his girlfriend. OJ. Kobe. Chris Carter. That Green Bay Packer who raped his babysitter. The list is endless.

Jim Fleming talks with Jeff Benedict, co-author (with Don Yaeger) of "Pros and Cons: The Criminals Who Play in the NFL." Benedict says that twenty one percent of the NFL players he researched have been arrested - some for serious felonies, and he cites examples.

You'd be amazed at how many college football players have been in trouble with the law as well. So many of these pros were once in trouble, and are just older now, with a record of things they did before age 18 that have been expunged.

Well - if my free thinking mind were allowed free rien, I'd have to ask....

Depends on *which* crime you are talking about.... if one in three women had abortions it's a lot different than one out of five.
