You know, I spent 14 years in the Air Force and I'm a Gulf War vet. I see and hear people all the time that have their opinion about Iraq or whatever. I was there. I saw the eyes of the refugees from that government, I saw the results of absolute power corrupting absolutely. I think that war is a horrible, morally offensive thing. But when you are put in the position, you do it and get it over with. Gulf War II started because the leadership of a defeated country violated UN resolutions and refused to disarm. Fortunately, we had a strong man who decided that enough was enough and called upon the world to hold that regime to it's promises. The first 24 hours of the war Iraq fired 2 Al-Samoud II rockets, weapons that were banned by UN resolutions and which were claimed to have been destroyed. One merely needs to look at the early eighties Time magazine that reported the nerve agent gassing of an entire city in Iraq because they were the wrong religion. The average American doesn't have the common knowledge of the enemies we face. I for one feel we should close our borders, throw all the illegal aliens out, and make ourselves the strong country we once were. There was a time when the world (read that terrorists) feared harming an American because of the consequences. Since Jimmy Carter allowed a small group of radicals to invade our country (for those of you unaware,any time you enter an embassy you are on that country's soil. Taking it by force is an act of war)we have been the victims of every foreigner with a gripe. Now, you kill an American to bring attention to yourself. Personally, I like the Israeli mentality; hurt us, we not only hurt you back, we go after your family too.
